A small science study guide

Turn notes into a quiz

A useful quiz checks what the notes actually say. Start with a short source, write a question, check its answer, and try again without looking.

Topic context: Australia, Year 8 Science — Cells and organelles. This is a short concept sample; check the level with a teacher.

Source checked 5 November 2026. Educator review pending. This original sample concerns typical plant and animal cells. It is not an official assessment or a claim of complete curriculum coverage.

Start with a small source

Example notes: A typical animal cell has a membrane that regulates exchange. Its nucleus contains most DNA. Cytoplasm fills the region around the nucleus.

These short original notes summarize the linked biology source. They are an example, not a recorded AI response.

Make the question test one idea

Question: Which structure regulates exchange with the surroundings?

  • Cell membrane
  • Nucleus
  • Cytoplasm
Check the answer against the notes

Cell membrane. The first sentence directly supports this choice. The other choices refer to different parts of the cell.

A repeatable notes-to-quiz method

  1. Choose the source. Use one short section of material you are allowed to upload. Remove private information.
  2. Pick the learning goal. Ask what you should be able to explain or apply after studying.
  3. Create a question. Test one idea and use meaningful alternatives. Do not add an answer the notes do not support.
  4. Verify the key. Find the supporting sentence or worked calculation. Correct misleading options and ask a teacher if the source is unclear.
  5. Attempt without the source. Explain your choice, review the reason, then try a comparable question later.
Try a flashcard version

Front: What is the cell membrane’s role?

Back: It regulates exchange between the cell and its surroundings.

Say the answer before revealing it. A card that you can recognize is not necessarily one that you can explain from memory.

Using the app with PDF notes or files

Open Study from notes in the learning app, add an allowed source, and review the generated summary before making a quiz or flashcards. Source files may be up to 32 MiB, with at most 4 MiB of extracted text and 500 PDF pages. Complex, encrypted or unsupported files may not process.

Registration is free. Published lesson access requires an eligible paid plan or active trial; free accounts do not include lesson or AI-generation allowances. AI generation also requires a verified email. Pro includes 30 study sessions per month and Max includes 90. Current card trials are 7 days; checkout shows the actual regional price, currency and renewal terms.

The default browser teacher is 2D with text and available narration. Optional 3D, hosted video, live voice or meeting features depend on configuration, provider availability and plan. No particular provider is guaranteed for every account.

Do not upload passwords, contact details, private records about another child, or confidential school material without authority. Sign-up does not currently record verified guardian approval. Families and schools should review the privacy and parent information and supervise younger learners. This is not a claim of legal eligibility or child-privacy compliance in every market.

AI explanations and generated practice can be incorrect or unsuitable. Check them against the original source and ask a teacher when uncertain. No improvement in grades, comprehensive safety evaluation or educator approval is guaranteed.
